History and Motivation:
I grew up active and participating in all sorts of sports and activities. Basketball, Baseball, Snowboarding/Skiing, Paddle Boarding and Mountain biking being the main areas of focus, I decided to add weight training to the regiment. After a few setbacks I decided to get to know my way around the science behind exercise and biomechanics. Too many people love to participate in activities but find it painful or too difficult to continue doing the things they love. Whether it be injury, aging, or the turmoil life can throw our way, the proper exercise program is vital to being able to sustain our ability to participate in the activities that make life worth living. Whether they be nagging or serious injuries, a strength and conditioning program can help us overcome and improve our ability to perform.
Philosophy:
Getting into or back into exercise can feel daunting. Lack of experience or expertise can create a lack of confidence when returning from an injury, or deciding to dive into strength training. I’ve dealt with this very roadblock on numerous occasions. Whether your goal be weight management, sport performance, injury maintenance/avoidance, or improving your ability to move: Personal Training can help give you the tools you need to get where you want to go.
As a Personal Trainer I see what’s wrong with the fitness industry. It is full of empty promises, shortcuts and ‘life hacks’ that don’t deliver. The market is saturated with messaging encouraging fear based behaviors and marketing schemes that suggest you’ll never be successful unless you buy their product or consume their content. The average person has been forgotten. There is so much noise in the industry, whether on Instagram or Cable Television, one cannot possibly cut out the nonsense on their own.
What sets me apart as a trainer is my approach. My approach to sustainability, attention to detail, my ability to adapt to meet your needs, and my honest communication. There are no quick fixes in fitness, the “science” behind virtually all of the ‘hacks’ you have been promised are drastically inflated. My background and experience help me cut through the BS this industry pushes onto those who don’t know any better. I’ve lived many of your experiences, struggling with nagging injuries, severe and debilitating injuries, lack of confidence in the gym, and feeling demoralized when it comes to weight management and physical appearance. My promise to you as your coach and trainer is to never lie to you, communicate what I know and what I don’t know, then apply my experience to getting you to a place where you move better, feel better and look better.
